The new Prime Minister of Mali, Diango Cissoko, Friday said he was “very confident” about the future of the relations of friendship and partnership between his country and Morocco, noting that “these relationships have never been tempered.”
During a meeting with the Ambassador of Morocco to Mali, Hassan Naciri, the new head of the Malian government hailed the active and consistent solidarity of Morocco with his country, in all circumstances, adding that “in its efforts to transcend the current crisis, Mali will always count on the sincere support of the Kingdom.”
Mr. Cissoko expressed his government’s commitment to boost relations between the two countries in all fields.
For his part, Naciri reiterated the commitment of Morocco, under the leadership of King Mohammed VI, to contribute to efforts to find a lasting solution to the crisis in Mali.
In this respect, Morocco will continue its efforts to help Mali to preserve its territorial integrity and national unity and build on the achievements of its democratic experience, said the Moroccan diplomat.
Naciri recalled the actions and efforts made by Morocco as president of the UN Security Council for the month of December, culminating in unanimous adoption of a resolution authorizing the deployment of an international force under African leadership, mainly to recover the northern regions.
Appointed prime minister by the president of the transitional Diounconda Traoré, Cissoko announced, last Saturday, the formation of his government.
