In line with its strategy in the promotion of Moroccan youth, the government is due to launch a new credit card for the young people to facilitate access to a number of social and economic services.
Entitled Carte Jeunes (Youth Card), the new Card is part of a comprehensive approach that aims at improving the situation of young people in a range of measures, Mohamed Ouzzine, the Minister of Youth and Sports said in mid- January.
“It comes to meet the expectations of young people. This is a strong signal of consideration for young people who expect concrete measures that can have a positive impact on their daily lives,” the minister added.
“We are trying to bring together all the recommendations of the youth who participated in the national debate. An inter-ministerial commission begins working on files for several components, including employment, openness to foreign languages, culture, etc.”, the minister said.
This new Carte Jeunes is expected to satisfy basic needs in many areas for young people and to promote the way they communicate with the world around them.
However, the age of people is still not clear, as there are different definitions of the age limit of young people. While the United Nations define youth as those persons between the ages of 15 and 24 years, the Arab league extends the age limit of the youth to between 16 and 35.
