A university student at the faculty of science which is affiliated to the University Moulay Ismail in Meknes was raped on Wednesday, February 6th.
The student was on her way back home after taking her first semester exams to be waylaid by a bandit. She was forced under the threat of a knife to accompany him to an empty place at the surroundings of the faculty of science.
In a video that circulates on social networks, the victim recounts her violation and says that she was forced to drink some soporific substance to lose her consciousness as a result. “He forced me to drink some white pills and some stinky liquid; I don’t know whether it was wine or alcohol. Anyways, it smelled very bad. He started harassing me. He took off my pullover and started touching my erogenous zones. I couldn’t resist him because I was fainting. When I regained my consciousness I didn’t know how much time passed. My pants were off and I felt a severe pain in my organs,” the victim says.
The student who was very broken and psychologically scarred after the incident collected her shreds and headed to the nearest police station to report the crime. She was taken to the University Hospital Moulay Ismail in Meknes for treatment.
It should be noted that the perpetrator of this heinous crime is still free up to the moment. A search warrant was issued against him based on the description provided by the victim to the police.
The incident left a state of indignation and resentment among the students of the faculty who expressed their sympathy and solidarity with their mate. Some students from the spot told Morocco World News that the surroundings of the faculty recently witness many cases of interception and theft committed by bandits and people known of their criminal history against students, particularly female students. This insecurity alarming especially with the lack of police patrol around the site of the faculty as students say.
