EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashtonvigorously condemned Tuesday’s bomb attack against the French embassy inTripoli and said terrorism was one of the worst threats to international peace.
“I condemn in the strongest terms the attack against the French embassy ,”Ashton said in a statement.
“Terrorism constitutes one of the most serious threats to internationalpeace and security and cannot be justified under any circumstance. Thoseresponsible for today’s attack must be brought to justice and held accountablefor their acts.”
“I trust that the Libyan authorities are undertaking the necessaryinvestigations in this regard,” she added.
Two French guards were hurt and the embassy badly damaged when a car bombhit the building in the morning in the country’s first attack on a foreignmission since militants stormed the US consulate in Benghazi in September.
