The special Moroccan-US partnership, grounded on a treaty of friendship of over 225 years, rises over contingencies and is an expression of common values ??and understanding of mutual priorities, US congressman Mario Diaz-Balart told a plenary session of the Lower House of the U.S. Congress.
Addressing the speaker of the House of Representatives, Diaz-Balart has highlighted “the importance of long-standing relations between the Kingdom and the United States, as well as the friendship between the two countries based on mutual respect and common interests.”
He stressed that the partnership between Rabat and Washington is “more important than ever.”
As a “stable” and “strong ally” of the United States, Morocco has been able to move forward in the process of democratic reforms by consolidating its stability in areas of socio-economic development, policy reforms, human Rights and a holistic approach to countering terrorism.
The United States, he insisted, “must continue to support Morocco for the service of our common interests with regard to current issues concerning Africa and the MENA region.”
