The government crisis, Morocco-Algeria relations and supporting enterprises are major highlights of Moroccan editorials published this Thursday July 04, 2014.
In an editorial titled “a storm in a cup”, Rissalat Al Oumma deplores the trading of insults, smears and provocations between the government coalition members which has nothing to do with democratic dialog and the respect of the constitution and advices political parties to sit at a negotiations table to discuss their grievances and divergences in order to reach solutions based on wisdom and perspicacity.
Components of the government should get rid of selfishness and think of the country’s supreme interests, the editorialist writes, considering that these altercations are indications of the government failure to run the country according to the participative democracy rules.
Bayane Al Yaoum underlines that most observers know perfectly that Algeria’s hostile attitude toward Morocco and the recent escalation are meant to deviate the Algerian people’s attention from its own grievances and concerns, the political and socio-economic crisis and more particularly the confusion around the Algerian president’s health.
The editorialist stresses that reopening land borders between Morocco and Algeria is foremost a humanitarian gesture toward hundreds of families living on both sides of the borders and a natural right of the two peoples, adding that reopening borders will benefit the two countries and the whole region at the economic, social and strategic levels.
The editorial also pointes that it is common knowledge that Algeria has been leading all the plots targeting the integrity of Morocco’s territory and does not want to realize that this is a cause for all Moroccans who have always succeeded in foiling plots.
Aujourd’hui le Maroc which deals with supporting enterprises says all kinds of help are welcome, especially for small and medium-sized enterprises, noting that this support should be tied to some conditions, mainly the need for enterprises to abide by fiscal and business regulations.
It stresses that the state should not be helping enterprises that do not honour their most basic duties.
