Cory Monteith, the 31 year old Canadian actor who’s known for his outstanding acting and singing in the hit Fox musical comedy series “Glee” was found dead yesterday Sunday 14th in his hotel room in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
After missing his checkout time around noon in the Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel where he was staying, Monteith’s body was discovered by hotel staff who called the local police immediately in order to start investigating his cause of death. His friends told the police that they were together with the deceased on Friday night and that he went back alone to his room early in the morning, the thing that a surveillance video from the hotel confirmed.
Rumor has it that his death is due to a drug overdose since the actor was known to have struggled with substance abuse and had checked himself into rehab twice- the first time at the age of 19 and the second time just a few months ago.
He checked out of rehab last April and told the press that he had been feeling great. Everyone from his entourage says that his recovery was going well, which is why they refuse to believe that his cause of death was drug addiction.
The police, however, are still investigating his cause of death and say that it will be revealed as soon as they have more details about it.
