The European Union seeks to contribute to the effort of Morocco to achieve more inclusive growth, said the European Commissioner for Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement, Stefan Fule.
Commissioner Fule made this statement on the occasion of the announcement, Thursday in Brussels, of a new European support project on economic development and the reduction of social inequalities in Morocco.
This project aims to support the reform of the basic medical coverage and the agricultural sector policy for the first part of the EU 2013 Action Program benefitting Morocco for an amount of € 110 million.
“Our support for these two major areas of socio-economic reforms allows us to contribute to more inclusive growth in line with the commitments made by the EU to its Moroccan partner in respect of the new approach of the European Neighborhood Policy,” Mr. Fule said in a press statement.
The Commissioner also said that these actions also aspires to meet the needs of the Moroccan population and include them in reaping the fruits of growth.
