The 2011-2012 report recently presented in Rabat by the steering committee of the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH) was considerably reassuring, especially for the Ministry of the Interior, in charge of managing the initiative, wrote daily Aujourd’hui le Maroc yesterday.
Since 2011, the number of benefiters reached 2.9 million, and the budget amounted to MAD 7.45 billion, including INDH’s contribution estimated at MAD 4.38 billion.
Concerning achievements, the Minister Delegate to the Minister of the Interior, Mr. Charkhi Draiss, noted that in 2011-2012, 8,800 and 1,700 project activities were carried out within the framework of the INDH.
According to the report, 2.4 million people benefited from these projects, with a budget that totals MAD 6 billion.
The number of income-generating activities amounted to 1,984 for the benefit of 29,760 people. MAD 558.4 million were invested, including a MAD 356 million contribution from INDH.
Concerning refurbishments at the territorial level, the Committee noted that the INDH allowed the construction of 423 km of roads and tracks, the commissioning of 27 health centers, the provision of potable water to 86 douars (villages) and the electrification of 1425 remote douars. I
n 2012, the number of projects initiated by INDH considerably increased, moving up from 4,300 in 2011, to 4,986 in 2012. MAD 3.86 billion were invested, including a MAD 2.46 billion contribution from INDH.
Statistics in the presented report also show that projects in the agricultural sector benefit more considerably from INDH’s funding with 53%, followed by commerce with 31 %, and finally the craft industry with 13%.
