The Marrakesh-born official follow the example of Aziz Akhanouch, another successful businessman, who has been entrusted over the past four years with the Ministry of Agriculture and Marine Fisheries.
By a royal decree, a cabinet minister receives MAD 26,000. In addition to his base salary, he receives a monthly compensation worth MAD 14,000 and an allowance that might reach MAD 20,000 a month for housing, furniture, travel, gasoline, car, etc.
The state pays the Minister’s phone, electricity and heating bills. In addition, each minister receives a compensation worth MAD 2,500 for each day spent overseas while discharging his/ her function, in addition to domestic workers assigned to him/her and two car services.
And the end of his/ her mandate, a Minister receives MAD 360,000, called departure bonus.
CEO of Saham Group, one of the largest groups in the country, Moulah Hafid Elalami is also vice -president of the Moroccan Federation of Insurance and Reinsurance Companies and member of the investment committee of the Inter-professional Moroccan Pension Fund.
Well-known figure in the social and economic spheres in the country, Moulay Hafid Elalamy was President of Morocco’s General Confederation of Enterprises of from 2006 to 2009.
