Rabat – The groups of majority and opposition at the house of representatives had, on Tuesday, mixed reactions concerning the action by the government on the Sahara issue.
During the monthly session on the government general policy on Morocco’s territorial integrity, the majority groups lauded the diplomatic action by the cabinet under the instructions of HM King Mohammed VI, underlining that the Moroccan diplomacy focuses on supporting the autonomy plan for the Sahara, reinforcing the democratic process and foiling attempts by the foes of territorial integrity.
Opposition groups criticized the cabinet which did not inform them about the developments of the Sahara issue, deeming that the government did not adopt a participatory approach towards them on this matter which is the responsibility of everyone.
They called for not constraining the duty of the government to actions by the foreign affairs ministry and the diplomatic mechanism, affirming that the continuation of reforms is the best defense of territorial integrity.
