Rabat- Princess Lalla Meryem chaired, Saturday at the National Library of the Kingdom of Morocco, the opening ceremony of the Charity Bazaar of Rabat diplomatic circle, held under the patronage of King Mohammed VI.
Princess Lalla Meryem visited the various stands of the bazaar, where products, from the participating countries, are exhibited.
On this occasion, explanations were provided to Princess Lalla Meryem about the various products showcased and which represent each country.
In a speech for the occasion, President of the Diplomatic Circle, Evelyne Tissier Nomme, wife of the Ambassador of Norway to Morocco, said the International Bazaar, considered the main event of the Rabat’s Diplomatic Circle, aims to fund projects carried out by Moroccan associations in the fields of education, health and the promotion of the conditions of rural women.
The event to take place for the first time in the National Library, is marked by the participation of forty countries, said Ms. Nomme, adding that the revenues of the bazaar (over 800,000 dirhams annually) will be allocated to Moroccan charities.
At the end of the ceremony, Princess Lalla Meryem posed for a souvenir photo with members of the Executive Board and the Organizing Committee of the DiplomaticCircle.
Upon arrival, Princess was greeted by Minister-delegate for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Mbarka Bouaida, and Secretary General of the Ministry of Social Development, Family, and Solidarity, Larbi Tabit, as well as other personalities.
