Madrid – Morocco and Spain signed, Monday in Madrid, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on university cooperation.
The agreement, signed by Minister of Higher Education Lahcen Daoudi and Spanish Minister of Education, Culture and Sport José Ignacio Wert Ortega, aims to promote academic cooperation between the two countries by carrying out activities of shared interest.
It also seeks strengthening ties of scientific cooperation between higher education institutions in the two countries, and supporting the mobility of students, researchers and administrative staff, as well as joint training. The memorandum also seeks encouraging the establishment of Spanish universities’ branches in Morocco. The agreement reflects the commitment of both countries to establishing mechanisms to improve cooperation between Moroccan and Spanish universities, in accordance with the wishes of both parties at the 10th High Level Meeting held October 3, 2012, in Rabat.
