Brussels – The vote by the European Parliament, on Tuesday in plenary session, in favor of the new fisheries agreement between Morocco and the EU is good news that symbolizes the resumption of a partnership of more than 25 years in this strategic sector, said Head of the EU’s Delegation in Rabat, Ambassador Rupert Joy.
The new fisheries agreement, whose financial contribution amounts to 40 million per year over four years, is advantageous to both parties and answers directly the concerns expressed by the European Parliament at the economic, ecological and social levels, said Joy in response to the positive vote on this agreement.
The ambassador recalled that this ratification is in line with the favorable opinion of the European Commission, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton, and the Member States of the European Council.
