But it seems that Moroccan fans will at least watch the opening game of the tournament on one of their public channels.
According to the French language news portal, Le360, Moroccan TV channel Al Oula will broadcast the opening game of the World Cup, which will take place at 7.30 pm GMT. The game will pit Morocco’s Raja of Casablanca to Auckland City from, from New Zeeland.
Moroccan journalist Hassan Boutabssil, director of the Arriyadiya TV channel, had criticized the organizers of the tournament for not allowing the country’s TV channels to broadcast its games.
Boutabssil was quoted by the Moroccan daily newspaper Annass in its issue of Wednesday as saying: “What is the point of organizing this World Cup if the Moroccan viewers cannot follow this international competition on public channels and what’s the point if Moroccan journalists are not allowed to cover it?
It is not sure yet whether Al Oula channel will broadcast the other games.
