According to news website Le360, a high-ranking security official committed suicide in Hrawiyin neighborhood in Casablanca.
A high-ranking security official was found dead in Hrawiyin neighborhood in Casablanca after he had allegedly committed suicide for reasons still undetermined.
According to the same source, the victim was identified as the Head of the Urban Authority of Moulay Rachid District in Casablanca.
The victim hung himself using a rope he had firmly attached to a tree.
He is not the first Moroccan security official to commit suicide this year. A police officer had committed suicide last January in his apartment in Sale, using the same method.
The cause of his suicide was believed to be a severe psychological distress.
Other than security officials, a number of ordinary Moroccan citizens committed suicide this year, one of whom is a 17-year old boy, who committed suicide in Khouribga, on the eve of last Saint Valentine.
The young boy threw himself off the top of Assa Bridge, located at El Massira Neighborhood in Khouribga.
