Casablanca – The staff of Moroccan channel 2M has recently condemned a statement made by an imam in Tangier against Moroccan TV host Nassima El Horr.
According to LE360, an imam in Tangier described Moroccan host Nassima El Horr as “an immoral person.”
The imam, from Attouaba Mosque in Tangier’s Bni Mekada, has seemingly sparked 2M’s indignation after his remarks about the host of the TV show Al khayt Labied.
According to the same source, 2M has called on officials to take the necessary measures against the imam and to deal “with all those who exploit the houses of God for such purposes.”
The TV show Al Khayt Labied, in which Nassima Al Hor brings together estranged family members to achieve a reconciliation between them, has come under heavy criticism from viewers. Many Moroccans see it as tasteless, foreign to Moroccan culture, and unworthy of taxpayers’ money.
