Rabat – Communication minister and government spokesperson Mustapha El Khalfi said, Thursday in Rabat, that the government welcomes the report issued by the revenue court on the subsidy system, whose reform was made a top priority by the cabinet.
Speaking at a press briefing following the weekly cabinet meeting, El Khalfi said the report supports the position of the government calling for a deep and comprehensive reform of the subsidy fund as laid in the 2014 appropriation bill.
He recalled that the reform seek to control the Fund’s expenses to avoid increasing budget deficit and affecting macroeconomic balances.
He underlined that shortcomings noted by the revenue court “in an accurate way” encourage the reforming approach adopted by the government in this regard.
