New York (UN) – UNSG Ban Ki-moon underlined, in a report submitted to the UN Security Council, King Mohammed VI’s efforts for national reconciliation in Mali.
Speaking about progress made in Mali’s stabilization, mainly in relation with national dialogue and reconciliation, the UNSG recalled the King’s visit to Mali to examine means to implement a lasting peace and reconciliation in the country.
On Feb. 19 to 23, the sovereign made a state visit to Mali to discuss a bilateral action to support peace and reconciliation in the country, wrote the report by the UN chief submitted recently to the UNSC.
Ban Ki-moon also recalled the audience granted on Feb. 1 by King Mohammed to a delegation from the National Movement for the Liberation of Azawad led by its secretary general Bilal ag Cherif.
