Madrid – Moroccan Ambassador in Spain, Mohamed Fadel Benyaich, said on Monday that improving the image of Morocco in Spain is a priority for Moroccan diplomacy.
“We must join efforts to improve the image of Morocco in Spain and promote the progress made by the Kingdom in all areas, thanks to the far-sighted vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI,” said Ambassador Benyaich during a coordination meeting with the consuls general of Morocco in Spain.
Morocco, a country with a rich history, has achieved huge steps in various fields, especially in respect of human rights, the consolidation of fundamental freedoms, gender equality, improving the business climate, but these advances must be known to a “friendly and neighboring” country such as Spain, said the diplomat.
He noted that the consular action should not be confined to a single administrative service, but must also work to strengthen bilateral ties on the political, economic, cultural, and social levels.
In addition to the actions taken to improve the living conditions and integration into the host country, the preservation of the Moroccan identity and attachment to the country of origin, the mobilization of Moroccan expats, additional measures to boost bilateral relations should be implemented so that Morocco could be well represented in the different Spanish regions, said Benyaich, adding that the meeting aims to draw a roadmap to achieve these goals.
