Tangier – Moroccan Minister of Economy and Finance, Mohamed Boussaid, said earlier this week that the tax reform has cost the state treasury MAD 2.5 billion.
On Monday June 2, 2014 in Rabat, an opening session of a consultative meeting was held between the Finance Committee of the Parliament and the Ministry of Economy and Finance. The meeting discussed the recommendations towards adjusting the national debate especially regarding the levies.
During his speech, the Minister of Economy and Finance, Mr. Mohammed Bousaid, said that the measures initiated by the government to reform taxation of the financial sector cost the Moroccan treasury MAD 2.5 billion in 2004.
Mr. Mohammed explained that since the beginning of the financial year he has also taken several measures seeking to reform this sector, especially to simplify regulations, begin the process of classification, accelerate the procedures of attending and administering complaints, and update as well as develop the IT systems.
