Agadir – Regardless of whether it is fair or not, some people are endowed with superior inborn qualities that make the balance tip in their favor when compared to people of average or less than average inborn qualities. These may include but are not limited to health, intelligence and beauty. Other qualities/positive factors that are acquired or achieved and that can come into play beside the ones cited earlier and which can make a very significant difference in the life of people are: education, rationality, ambition, income, social status, Psychological health and faith or moral support.
We can talk of multiplier effect when an individual has all the combined or most of the combined above qualities or positive factors working as an intertwined force to boost the person’s performance and accomplishment towards success. The degree of performance and accomplishment varies according to whether the person’s qualities or positive factors are ranked as average, above average, good, very good or excellent. The adjectives used for ranking can be viewed as coefficients for distinction of various people’s performances or accomplishments.
People with great qualities and qualifications enjoy the multiplier effect as each of their inborn and acquired or achieved qualities or positive factors helps make life easier for them, adds more value to their life experience and incites them to line up a number of advantages to boost their ascension and achieve more success.
Needless to say that people with rather advantageous qualities or positive factors equally gain advantageous status and consequently come to enjoy a state of high self-esteem which in turn paves the way to greater self-confidence much needed by anybody aspiring to achieve anything of value.
The multiplier effect of positive accomplishments made possible by efficient preparedness to meet challenges and transform them into opportunities and successes brings about a great degree of gratification and satisfaction for individuals of overall superior qualities and qualifications.
On the other hand, the domino effect used in this article to refer to the starting tumbling point until the end result or outcome when all the combined or most of the combined draw-backs, in this case, work altogether to bring the person’s performance or “accomplishment” down to poor, mediocre or insignificant levels. The end result again varies according to whether the person’s “qualities” are ranked as below average, poor, very poor or almost inexistent.
People with not so great qualities or weak qualifications are poorly prepared to face life difficulties, overcome them or achieve any significant degree of success. They are burdened by the combined negative effects of all their draw-backs and are retained from achieving much. When faced up with a great number of negative factors paired only with a few positive ones such as being in good physiological health but lacking most of the other qualities, the domino effect cannot be stopped and a great many people in this instance end succumbing under its crushing impact.
People with high disadvantageous factor rates can be said to be all set to undergo the domino effect in most of life areas. In their inability to cope with life challenges, their self-esteem goes down and as a result their self-confidence follows suit. The whole thing weighs in their disfavor and they, therefore, may hardly achieve any degree of success.
The relentless weight of the domino effect that burdens such people and brings them down causes them to suffer severe degrees of failure and frustration. Hence, they constantly reach out to find a savior or else make great sacrifices to find compensation elsewhere.
The irrational journey of these frustrated people starts with that idea of trying to find compensation in order to feel useful, secure and accepted. At this precise point in time different types of delinquency, fanaticism and sectarianism start to look and sound very appealing to a great percentage of them.
Now if we consider devising a gratification-frustration scale represented in a figure with the different qualities and qualifications or positive factors are listed and given precise ratings from almost inexistent to excellent to a given population, we will notice that even within the frustration zone there would still be hope to help, rehabilitate and save a number of individuals in pre-emptive attempts to nip delinquency, fanaticism and sectarianism in the bud or at least attenuate their long–run devastating outcomes.
On a larger scale, I think that given other parameters, what may be true for individuals can also be true for countries or nations. “The multiplier effect versus the domino effect” will certainly be there to examine, study, think about and learn from so one could be stopped and stifled while the other encouraged and sustained. Maybe this could contribute to restore some peace in this troubled world of ours.
