Rabat – Morocco is an “important and very reliable” partner for Germany, said Tuesday in Rabat, Thomas Silberhorn, Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal minister for Economic Cooperation and Development.
“Morocco is an important and reliable partner for Germany. ( … ) Recently, we successfully wrapped up our intergovernmental negotiations,” Silberhorn told journalists following a meeting with the minister delegate for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Mbarka Bouaida.
The German official also hailed the “historical” and “intense” character of Moroccan-German cooperation relations.
For her part, Bouaida reiterated Morocco’s readiness to explore new opportunities in promising cooperation areas, particularly through triangular and decentralized cooperation.
The Moroccan minister recalled in this context the “Rabat Declaration” signed in September 2013 which represents an ambitious roadmap for strengthening bilateral relations.
Underlining the shared ambition of both countries to further strengthen their relations in the political, economic and cultural fields, Bouaida praised the significant support of the German federal ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development to several development projects in Morocco.
