Nouakchott – Mauritanian minister of Relations with the Parliament and Civil Society, Government spokesperson Mohamed Mahmoud Ould Izidbih said his country will appoint “in the few coming days” a new ambassador in Rabat.
“If, to the press, an appointment of an ambassador is the standard of good relations between Mauritania and Morocco, a new ambassador will be appointed in the few coming days”, the Mauritanian official said, warning against media rumors and speculations.
The Mauritanian minister, who was speaking at a press conference after a meeting of the Council of ministers, said that the absence for some time of a Mauritanian ambassador in Rabat does not at all mean a freeze in bilateral relations.
Ould Izidbih highlighted the deep bonds uniting the two peoples, noting that under these bonds, relations between the two countries will never deteriorate.
