Marrakech – Only few days after a man in Marrakech assaulted his wife, Khawla, with a razor blade, another husband fiercely assaulted his wife in Bab Dakkala, in the same city.
The man’s wife, a 28-year-old named Samira, who has an eight-month-old baby, was victim to barbarous attack from her husband, who left her with deep wounds to her face, which required stitches.
The man attacked his wife with a razor blade after forcibly stopping her on the way to a divorce session that was scheduled by the involved families, according to Hespress.
After several conflicts between the two, the husband attacked her, telling her frequently “I will deform your face”, according to the same source.
The wife was badly injured in sensitive parts of her face, and as a result needed a complicated operation.
As with Khawla’s case, Samira was married to her rapist, who was arrested immediately after the attack.
Both Samira and Khawla are being hospitalized at Ibnu Toufail Hospital in Marrakech.
Both cases raise questions about the delay of the adoption of the law on violence against women. It becomes more and more urgent to adopt the law, as the violence against wives is increasing at a worrying pace..
