Marrakech – More than a thousand Moroccan educational institutions will celebrate the culture of human rights through an educational activity that will be performed from 10:00 to 10:30 on Thursday morning during the International Forum of Human Rights, which is being held in Marrakech from November 27 to 30.
6.8 million students will participate in the activity. Primary school students will create posters about the meaning of a ‘human rights culture’, while preparatory and secondary school students will make appeals, carrying a valuable message of human rights to the children and youth around the world.
The activity aims to promote educational activities in terms of human rights values. It is hosted by the Ministry of Education, in collaboration with the preparatory committee of the Forum, with the aim of fostering the principles of human rights as a common heritage of humanity.
The activity is the continuation of an initiative launched by the Ministry of National Education and vocational training concerning the promotion of human rights culture, through review and revision of the contents of 122 textbooks that contrast the principles of human rights, as well as the training of teachers and trainers in the field of human rights, the incorporation of the constitutional provisions related to human rights in education system, and the creation and promotion of a network of about 5,000 clubs for human rights and citizenship.
