Morocco Suspends Teacher For Shooting Video Mocking First Grade Student

Rabat – The Ministry of National Education has decided to suspend teacher involved in the shooting of a video that shows a first grade student named Nadia being mocked for her inability to write number 5 properly on the blackboard.

The Ministry said in a statement that it was able to identify the teacher who was mocking Nadia while making everybody else in the class laugh at her for her inability to write number 5.

The Ministry added that the committee that was sent on Monday December 1st to conduct a thorough investigation on the subject with all involved parties, has found that the video was indeed recorded by a teacher of primary education who works in a school located in the city of Kenitra.

The Ministry said that, given the seriousness of this act, it has decided to suspend the teacher from his duties and to present him before a disciplinary board.

The video, which surfaced last week stirred a controversy in the country, with thousands of people sharing it on social media and condemning the behavior of the teacher.

Given the widespread condemnation caused by the video , the teacher posted another video on YouTube over the weekend in which is apologized for his act.
