An elected member from the municipal council of Imzouren and his lover, a student, were sentenced to three years in prison.
They were stopped by a police patrol on the coastal road on December 13th while in a car of the municipal council.
According to media reports, the pair detained and presented to the king’s attorney. The case is said to be handled very quickly and the verdict announced yesterday during the second hearing.
The two Moroccan citizens have not had the chance of British tourist Ray Cole and his Moroccan friend.
He was released from a four-month prison sentence after he was convicted earlier of homosexual intercourse, indecency, and taking indecent photos.
24 hours after his release from a Marrakech prison, his young Moroccan friend Jamal Wald Nass was also released on bail by the Moroccan authorities.
