Rabat – The Moroccan Chamber of Film Producers called for lifting censorship on US movie Exodus.
The body, chaired by Ahmed El Maanouni who is for freedom of creation, denounced in a statement the decision to censor the movie Exodus and called for immediately lifting this measure “which undermines our country’s democratic achievements”.
It deemed that this step strips viewers of their power to think, debate and have their own opinion.
Exodus was banned from Moroccan movie theaters for embodying God. It was also banned in Egypt and the UAE for historical inaccuracy.
