Two years ago, French nearing pension age found Morocco as an appealing destination of retiring overseas, mainly due to its inexpensive living, interesting things to do and tax breaks.
Morocco has been dethroned by Portugal and Thailand as the destinations most preferred by French senior citizens for retirement.
Retraite-étranger.fr. ranking sifted data that included many factors such as culture, health and weather etc.
According to the website, Morocco is presented as having many advantages: proximity, French language, tax breaks and Moroccan hospitality.
However, the kingdom lost points against Portugal on natural, cultural heritage, recreation, medical care and security.
