Facebook to Officially Censor Criticism of Islam

Rabat – Social media network giant Facebook is working on implementing a formal policy of censoring criticism of Islam, particularly pages mocking and offending the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

According to Top Conservative News, Facebook has recruited many censors that will be working for $1.50 an hour to delete every post criticizing Islam. Approximately half of them work from an office in Morocco.

“Facebook just announced that it is introducing a formal policy of deleting pages which are critical of Islam,” Top Conservative News said.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg posted a statement on his page on January 9th stating that Facebook will “follow the laws in each country.”

A week after Zuckerberg’s statement, the BBC reported that Facebook has blocked an unspecified number of pages that “offended the Prophet Muhammad” after Turkey demanded Facebook to either block the pages or be banned in the country.
