According to the National Institute of Geophysics, the earthquake struck Agadir at 4:29 am.
The institute added that the tremor epicenter was located in the coast of Agadir.
Fortunately no causalities nor material damages were recorded.
Last November, a stronger quake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale struck Agadir at 9pm.
The worst earthquake that hit Agadir was in October 1960, which left 12,000 dead, 12,000 more injured, and more than 35,000 people homeless.
The disastrous earthquake (of 5.7 magnitude on the Richter scale) took the life of about a third of the city’s population at that time, making it the most destructive and deadliest quake in the history of the kingdom.
