Brussels- The EU will launch a € 10 Million project to support Morocco’s migration and asylum policy later this year, European Commissioner in charge of Migration, Interior affairs and Citizenship, Dimitris Avramopoulos, said.
The project is meant to support Moroccan efforts to grant migrants and refugees a better access to public services in Morocco, as well as the same rights as Moroccans, Avramopoulos said before the European Commission.
He also noted that this initiative will offer legal residents a better access to healthcare and vocational training, educate migrants’ children and provide support to pregnant migrants.
The EU is already supporting Moroccan efforts concerning migration issues, through “Sharaka” project, launched in September 2013, Avramopoulos recalled.
