Rabat – Mustapha El Khalfi, the Moroccan Minister of Communication and Government Spokesman, said on Thursday that Morocco is the only country in the Middle East and North Africa not to have experienced any terrorist attacks in 2014.
After the heinous terrorist attack that targeted the Bardo Museum in Tunis on Wednesday, the Minister denounced the attack, adding, “the phenomenon of terrorism has taken new forms, allowing it to expand and spread.”
“Morocco has been distinguished from a number of countries with its proactive ability and communication policy that work to integrate and involve the public in the efforts of the fight against terrorism,” the Minister said.
El Khalfi highlighted the merits of the Malikite rite that is a salient feature of Moroccan Islam and the country’s effort in reforming its security policy to maintain its long-cherished stability.
“The policy that Morocco’s various institutions have adopted in this respect has had positive results,” he said.
