In a statement by the Spanish Foreign Ministry, Spain stressed the need to uphold the principle of the inviolability of diplomatic missions and reiterated its full commitment to the fight against all forms of terrorism.
The Spanish government calls on all the parties to the conflict in Libya to engage in negotiations under the auspices of the UN in order to reach an agreement on the formation of a national unity government that will restore political stability and put an end to violence, the statement went on to say.
The main gate of the Moroccan embassy in Tripoli was targeted by a bomb attack early on Monday which did not claim victims but left material damage to surrounding buildings.
The explosion came only hours after a similar attack on the South Korean Embassy in Tripoli claiming two lives.
