Rabat – Moroccan Head of Government Abdelilah Benkirane has promised the strictest penalties against those who leaked this year’s Baccalaureate exams, calling them ‘traitors’ against their country.
Speaking at the government council on Thursday, June 11, Benkirane said the leak was a premeditated action and all efforts will be made to find the perpetrators.
Early on Wednesday, a copy of the mathematics exam was leaked on the internet, causing a wave of protests among students and their parents throughout the country.
The Moroccan Prime Minister said that on Wednesday security services launched an investigation into the matter in an effort to identify those responsible for ‘this act of treason’.
Benkirane added the state will be very strict in enforcing the law, adding that securing the Baccalaureate exams is part of the security of the nation.
