Rabat – King Mohammed VI is reported to have flown to France for a private visit following a four-nation African tour that started on May 20th.
King Mohammed VI visited France on January 31st during which he met French President François Hollande.
The visit marked the end of a of a year-long diplomatic tension between the two countries that had been prompted by a judicial move against Abdellatif Hammouchi, head of the Moroccan secret services and General Directorate for National Security.
According to Hespress, the monarch is expected to stay in his private residence situated in Betz, Picardie for few days before returning to Morocco.
Prior to this private visit, the monarch made official visits to a number of sub-Saharan countries, including Senegal, Cote d’Ivoire, Guinea Bissau and Gabon.
