Paris – Secretary general of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Angel Gurria lauded, on Monday in Paris, the good performance of the Moroccan economic indicators.
In a meeting with head of government Abdelilah Benkirane, on the sidelines of the signing ceremony of the country-program between Morocco and OECD, Gurria lauded the good performance of the Moroccan economy, mainly in terms of growth and the reduction of budget deficit.
He recalled the goals of the country-program between the two parties, noting that it seeks to bring Morocco closer to the organization’s standards and support its reform process.
Gurria highlighted Morocco’s efficient participation in the different OECD committees, commending the Kingdom’s role as co-chairman of the MENA-OECD initiative, as well as its role in the Organization’s development center in which the kingdom is a partner since 2009.
He also gave an overview of OECD’s actions in Morocco, notably the report of Open Government in the Kingdom which will be presented Wednesday on the occasion of a trip by an OECD delegation to Rabat.
