Rabat – There are 1.5 million Moroccans living in France, including 670,000 who have dual Moroccan and French citizenships, says a new report.
Presented by Elisabeth Guigou from the Foreign Affairs committee of the French National Assembly, the report on mutual legal assistance between France and Morocco has confirmed France as the leading host country for Moroccans.
France is also the favorite destination of Moroccan students. 34,000 Moroccan students study in French universities, making them the largest group of foreign students in the country.
The report also shows that the network of French schools in Morocco is the largest in the world with more than 31,500 students.
Regarding requests for extradition in 2013, Moroccan authorities extradited to their French counterparts 11 wanted people, while France one person was extradited to Morocco.
In 2013, twenty-four French nationals imprisoned in Morocco were transferred to France to finish their sentences, compared to thirty-four French prisoners in 2012.
