Taroudant- On Wednesday June 24th, Rachid Benmokhtar, Minister of National Education and Vocational Training, said that he had contacted the Facebook administration for help in the investigation process initiated by his ministry and the interior ministry to find those involved in the recent leaks of the Moroccan Baccalaureate exams.
Benmokhtar said that his ministry had contacted Facebook’s founder and CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, “who has a shared responsibility in this matter.”
The ministry has “asked Zuckerberg to cooperate with us to find those responsible for the last leaks, and any frauds in the future,” he said.
“We are still waiting for Zuckerberg’s response,” he added.
While the minister said that the investigation will examine all possible sources of the breach, he pointed out that the exam paper was not leaked from the administration where the sealed envelopes of exam papers were opened.
The minister stressed that “the leaked photo of the exam proved that the paper was leaked by phone, but was not photographed inside the administration.”
To assert his claims, the minister said that “the photo of the exam paper was folded into four parts.”
The minister added that the investigation is currently underway and may take a long time, vowing to reveal to the public everyone involved in this fraud.
Benmokhtar said that the exam leaks is not a problem limited to the Moroccan school, but also “the leak of exam questions happens also in the schools of France and Belgium. »
During the first round of the Committee for Education, held in the parliament on Wednesday, MPs from the opposition leveled harsh criticism at the Minister for “failing to protect the national baccalaureate exams from leaking.”
Despite the anger of the opposition, the minister preferred not to respond to all of the questions from MPs, reportedly protecting the secrecy of the investigation.
