Rabat- Nine agreements were signed on Wednesday in Rabat between the Ministry of Education and Vocational training and three global suppliers of automotive parts and cables for the creation of new apprenticeship training centers in Morocco.
Under the signed agreements, the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training will cooperate with Delphi, Yazaki and Leoni to train thousands of school leavers in the automotive trades.
The training period, or apprenticeship, will allow nearly 30,000 school leavers to learn about automotive trades over a period of four years in three skill levels (worker, skilled worker and technician). Delphi will train 13,000 apprentices, Yazaki will train 10,000 people, and Leoni will train 7,000 people.
The apprenticeship training center will be dedicated to automotive businesses in the production units of the three groups: Yazaki (Tangier, Kenitra, and Meknes), Delphi Packart (Tangier, Kenitra) and Leoni (Bouskoura, Ain Sebaa and Berrechid).
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Education Minister Rachid Belmokhtar expressed the commitment of his ministry to support the development of the automotive industry, highlighting the importance of vocational training to bring the school to businesses.
Meryem Bensalah, presdent of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), highlighted the role of vocational training which enables better integration of young people in business, reiterating the commitment of the CGEM to support vocational training, especially for the automotive trades.
