Rabat – Morocco international Medhi Benatia said he would move to Real Madrid or Juventus if he is not guaranteed more game time at Bayern Munich next season.
Benatia made only 24 appearances for the Bavarians in all competitions last season following his €28 million transfer from the Italian side of AS Roma. As a result, the 28-year-old Moroccan player is reportedly looking for a club that would offer him regular play time.
“My goal is to win the Champions League but my main objective is to play 35-40 games next season,” the defender told Tuttosport. “If I should realize that I’m not going to be able to do that, then I will start to look around.”
Benatia has fuelled speculation that he could leave Bayern Munich after just one season, especially that he is on the radar of the likes of Real Madrid and Juventus.
“The interest of Real Madrid and Juventus would flatter any player because they are two great clubs,” Medhi Benatia told Tuttosport. “Therefore, it cannot but make you happy.”
Benatia has also been linked with a move back to Italy and specifically to Inter Milan. “In football, as you know, anything can happen,” Benatia added.
