According to ESPN, the deal is expected to be finalized in Turkey on Monday.
Van Persie, 31, who moved to Old Trafford from Arsenal in 2012, is expected to arrive at Istanbul airport on Sunday ahead of his move to the Turkish side of Fenerbahce.
The Dutchman has reportedly completed his medical with Fenerbahce in London on Thursday and has agreed personal terms.
Van Persie, who has one year left on his contract, has struggled with injury and scored 10 goals for Manchester United last season.
The striker is the Netherland’s all-time top scorer with 49 goals in 98 games.
He scored 132 goals in 278 appearances for Arsenal and has netted 58 times in 105 games for Manchester United.
