Rabat – Real Madrid’s right back Dani Carvajal shared with his 1.8 million Instagram followers a picture from his recent visit to Morocco’s tourism hub, Marrakech.
Carvajal’s Instagram picture has garnered 59,000 likes as of this writing and a long list of comments of support from the player’s fans in Morocco and around the world.
The 23-year-old visited many of the city’s landmarks, including the Ourika valley and the village of Setti Fatma to enjoy the area’s scenic waterfalls.
Carvajal, who has been linked with moves to Manchester United and Liverpool in recent month, signed on Wednesday a contract extension with Real Madrid until 2020.
The Spain international joined played for Real Madrid’s B side Castilla between 2010 and 2012. He was later sold to Bayer Leverkusen for five million Euros.
Real Madrid exercised their buy-back option to re-sign the young right back, and has been a crucial player in the team since his return to the Bernabeu.
