Madrid – Director General of the Spanish police Ignacio Cosido lauded, on Wednesday, Morocco’s good cooperation in the fight against terrorism.
There is a good cooperation between the Spanish police and the Moroccan services in terms of fighting terrorism, especially jihadist terrorism, Cosido said in a statement at Rioja (north-western Spain), alluding to the arrest, on Wednesday in the occupied city of Melilia, of a person holding the Spanish nationality and accused of recruiting and indoctrinating women to send them in conflict zones in Iraq and Syria, run by ISIS terrorist group.
Cosido described as “very important” this operation which was jointly led by the Spanish police and the General Directorate for Territory Surveillance (DGST), and which follows another operation to dismantle a network for recruiting and sending people to hot spots in Iraq and Syria.
Quoted by local media outlets, Spanish interior minister Jorge Fernandez Diaz hailed the very close collaboration with Moroccan services.
