Casablanca – A national from Niger was arrested, on Thursday, by the customs services at the Mohammed V airport of Casablanca for carrying a weapon and eight bullets, a source from the customs services said.
The high-caliber gun and the bullets were inside the Nigerien’s handbag and were detected during X-rays control operations. The African national, born in 1962, was boarding a Niamey-Casablanca flight.
According to the preliminary investigation, the accused, a businessman in the transportation field, said that he brought the gun by mistaken and that he came to Morocco for medical care, it added.
The passenger was handed to the judiciary police at the airport’s border point for further investigations.
