Miami- South Florida feels the splendor of Morocco during the latest Miami Swim Week. Renowned designer Mara Hoffman gets inspired by the city of Marrakesh in Morocco to present her 2016 Resort Swim collection.
The famous Versace Mansion in Miami Beach, also known as Casa Casuarina could have well been confused with a Moroccan palace in the last few days. From colorful artifacts, appealing lighting, Arabic music, exotic plants, and those amazing tribal Moroccan rugs, the mansion hosted an exquisite Moroccan style.

Considered one of the most expensive mansions in the world, it was the perfect choice of backdrop for Hoffman who created the splendid ambiance for her boho esthetic designer swimsuits.

Hoffman told Miami New Times “I was just so in love with the time that Yves Saint Laurent spent at the Majorelle Gardens; it was the most beautiful garden in Marrakesh and he eventually bought it in 1980. I just loved that aesthetic and style.”
Casa Casuarina was purchased by designer Gianni Versace in 1992, who renovated it for more than $33 million. Versace was tragically killed in front of the mansion in 1997. Causing heavy controversy after Versace’s death, the mansion has been listed up to $125 million, and sold for a mere $41.5 million. Nowadays, it is a high-end boutique hotel in South Beach.
