Rabat – Morocco international Medhi Benatia has ignored the rumors surrounding his future at Bayern Munich, saying that he is happy at the Allianz Arena side.
Benatia defender joined the Bavarian giants from Roma last summer for a reported fee of €30 million. However, Benatia has been linked with moves back to the Italian top flight with Juventus believed to be interested in securing his services.
According to Italian newspaper La Gazzetta Dello Sport, Juventus are keen on roping in 28-year-old Medhi Benatia to boost their defenses and supply line.
“I am happy here at Bayern but in football you never know,” Benatia told Sky Italia.
“I do not get involved with transfer stories, I still have four years on my contract here,” he added.
When asked about a potential move to the Old Lady this summer, the former AS Roma player said:
“I really do not know, I am just concentrating on playing well, the transfer market does not interest me.”
“I do like Italy very much however,” he said.
Benatia made just 24 appearances in all competitions for Bayern Munich last season due to injuries and lack of form.
