Rabat – Morocco’s Royal Air Maroc (RAM) has denied reports that a Moroccan 11-year old boy died on board one of its flights, saying the boy “died after the aircraft landed in Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport, Italy.”
In a statement released on Thursday, RAM said “the passenger who was suffering from chronic health problems, had had a medical situation, a few moments before the flight AT952 landed in Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport.”
The statement went on to add that the pilot was notified of the situation. “Paramedics and an ambulance were immediately sent to wait for the plane on the tarmac.”
“After landing, medics quickly boarded the aircraft to deal with the patient… Despite the medics’ life-saving efforts that lasted for over 40 minutes, the passenger died,” RAM explained.
The statement said that Royal Air Maroc extends its condolences and compassion to the family of the boy.
This comes after a Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport declared in a statement on Thursday morning the passing away of the Moroccan child onboard a RAM flight, from Casablanca to Bologna.
The statement said the boy suffered from deformities and a difficulty in breathing, which caused him a heart-attack.
