Taroudante – An important Russian delegation in the energy industry is expected to visit Morocco from September 8 to 11 on a business mission.
The Moroccan Department of Energy, Mines, Water and Environment said on Sunday that a prominent Russian delegation headed by Russian Deputy Energy Minister, Yury Senturine and composed of senior officials and businessmen operating in the energy sector, will pay a working visit to Morocco. They will be in the Kingdom from September 8 to 11 to discuss energy issues concerning both countries.
During their stay in Morocco, the Russian delegation will visit energy facilities and hold meetings with the country’s experts.
The same source added that Moroccan ministry officials and public enterprises in the energy sector will present their priority issues. Topics will revise the national energy strategy and the legislative and regulatory framework governing the Moroccan energy sector, as well as highlight investment opportunities in the Kingdom.
Meanwhile, Russian companies will share their skills and expertise in the fields of electricity, renewable energy, development of gas infrastructure, as well as in oil and gas research.
The visit will be crowned by a high-level meeting on Wednesday between Abdelkader Amara, Minister of Energy, Mines, Water and Environment, and the Russian delegation, in presence of concerned officials from Morocco’s public institutions.
Following the huge renewable energy projects installed in the Kingdom, Morocco is positioned as a “regional leader” in the field of renewable energy.
